Our School

Pine Bluff Lighthouse Charter School (PBLCS) is a public, K–8 charter school located on the southeast side of Pine Bluff. We are a college-prep focused school, with the steadfast goal to prepare students for college. Our current enrollment is approximately 270 students, of which 96% are students of color.

Funding and Charter

Pine Bluff Lighthouse Charter School receives public funding from federal and state resources. Managed by Lighthouse Academies, we operate under an open-enrollment charter approved by the Arkansas Department of Education.

Our History

Since opening our doors in 2011, PBLCS has grown and evolved from a K-4 campus to a K-8 campus and extended our reach and programs to meet and serve the needs of our community.

Our Culture

Whole Child

We subscribe to a restorative approach to develop the whole child. We accomplish this by leveraging relationships and helping our students develop the social skills necessary to ensure they are prepared to solve problems, work collaboratively, and persevere in the world.

Healthy Relationships

We focus on developing social-emotional skills in addition to academic development. Each day begins and ends with classed focusing on relationship building.

Emotional Support

We provide a comprehensive counseling program for all students through our partnerships with The P.A.T. Center (Social Workers, therapists, counselors).
